I am a restless painter. I can never settle on a consistent approach or single idea, thus this painting is my effort to teach myself how to glaze color, a technique with which I was unfamiliar. My favorite plant was the chosen subject and happily lent itself to a wonderful, collaged snapshot composition. I love palms and other tropical plants. I thought I could make a painting that looked like tropical wallpaper with an out of place photorealistic rendering.
